Student comments: |
Mike was patient, thorough, smart and kind, he improved my skills greatly. I came into these dives without much confidence but left feeling really good and much more comfortable.
Moray Eels, Starfish, lots of pretty fish and our instructor pointed out all the dangerous ones. Lots of fun, good food and slick crew, they had to face really rough waters for dives 1 & 2. |
|
Instructor comments: |
Great couple of days finishing off the referrals from USA. Rough sea but we made it work. Awesome students.

Student comments: |
Mike gives clear and concise, easy to understand instructions. Problem with hovering but overcame with practice.
Racha Yai Bay 3 & 1; Octopus, Batfish, Porcupine fish. They are good for training, not for fun dives. Disappointed that we didn't manage to get to Phi Phi. Please pay more attention to trainees who require special meals. Food on dive 1 & 2 was so-so. We almost had no food for dives 3 & 4 but simple fried rice was prepared for us on the boat. |
|
Instructor comments: |
Peggy & Aden were great students, put in extra time completing theory, making sure they avoided seasickness on the boat. Peggy had some trouble with hovering but with practice overcame it. It was a shame the weather stopped us from getting to Phi Phi.

The course is fun and interesting. Instructor Mike was patient and gave clear instructions. Ear pain - descend slowly! Bicycle kicking.
Racha Yai Bay 3 & 1; Octopus, Batfish, Porcupine fish. Disappointed the weather wouldn't let us go to Phi Phi but still managed to see interesting marine life. |
|
Instructor comments: |
Aden was a good student, had some problems clearing his ears at the start, but with a slow proper descent, it got much easier as the course went along. Come the end, it was not a problem at all. Well done Aden!

Student comments: |
Course is enriching, Dan encouraged independence in me by letting me handle different skills by myself (even in times of struggle), while he watched, making sure I was Ok. Had problems swimming in fins but got better by the end of day 3, listening to Dan's advice got me there.
Racha Yai Bay 1 & 3 were the dive sites. Generally OK with good visibility on day 3. Marine life; Batfish, Lionfish, Garden Eels, Nemo, Peacock Mantis Shrimp. |
|
Instructor comments: |
Swimming with fins on was an issue but got better and better with every dive. The 3rd day was more like fun diving.

Student comments: |
The programme is a bit packed but we managed to get through all the important skills and have some fun too. I wish the weather was better.
Saw Octopus, Lionfish, Batfish, Cuttlefish. Marine life is great for the dive sites. Dan was patient and made sure we learned and remembered the different skills. Humorous and fun. |

Instructor comments: |
A great group of friends and enjoyable to teach. Everything seemed to fall in place on the last day.

Good course with very thorough instructor.
Some reduced visibility due to bad weather, however it was expected for time of year. |
|
Instructor comments: |
Easy going once we got comfortable in the open water with a nice mask. Another great course.

Student comments: |
A little cautious at first, felt a little confined in pool but instructor eased that. Once in the open ocean it all came together.
All sites had good variance of life and vision; wreck on dive 4 was excellent. Instructor was personable, helpful and patient at all times, excellent work! |
|
Instructor comments: |
Richard was not feeling well with pool session, but after first dive in open water really started to enjoy diving and loved it more and more with each dive. Another thoroughly enjoyable course.

Student comments: |
The pool portion was essential for learning the basic skills before open water practical. Learn to trust the equipment and practice more by diving more.
It was interesting to see how the fish now use the shipwreck as a home, we saw lobsters, moray eels and anemones. |
|
Instructor comments: |
Very happy that John pushed himself to keep trying. At first had a little trouble clearing the mask but kept trying and and it eventually became no problem at all.

Enjoyed the underwater experience. A good instructor with a lot of patience helped that.
Marine life was sparse, a lot of dead coral. |
|
Instructor comments: |
Scott and John made a great buddy team. They were able to help each other out throughout the course.

Good course, had a great time and learnt heaps. Struggled with the dive calculations but Dan made it easy to understand.
Dive sites were great, too much marine life to list; it was great to see everything up so close. |
|
Instructor comments: |
Finished the open water with ease, now straight on to the advanced!
